From the window sill

The neighbour's cat prowls & preens
Ah! It spots something interesting
It skims away.
The buzz below, dull and grey,
Scarcely holds attention when--
She comes uppity & grand
A little touch-up and into the arms of the Dand'.
Hugs galore and pecks all over
The young & their merrymaking ways!
The urchins are at play, grimy and dingy
Quite below us of course, but not totally unhappy!
The lights are lit and the stores come alive
The first of the evening shoppers soon arrive
Footers steer from parks to homes
Basking in the dusk's enchanting glow
The purpling sky envelops the town
Calming the birds to slumber
A jet zooms afar, leaving a silvery trail
Mesmerizing before it's quick fading..
To go beyond those mystery skies, far beyond I wonder
Soaring higher & higher till the end of the Universe..
What magic will greet me there?..
Reverie broken by a crass noise
The sound of the world in busy operation.
As twilight ends, reversion to normalcy is to start
Chores await ; I must attend, I must depart.
